Stella Tennant

The Scottish-born supermodel died suddenly on 23rd Dec. five days after her 50th birthday. "It is with great sadness we announce the sudden death of Stella Tennant on 22nd December 2020," Tennant's family said in a statement to the PA news agency. "Stella was a wonderful woman and an inspiration to us all. She will be greatly missed."

Before modelling, who was the granddaughter of the 11th Duke of Devonshire, Andrew Cavendish, and Deborah Mitford Winchester Art School. She got her start after being spotted by Vogue photographer Steven Meisel in the early '90s, and went on to become one of the most prolific models in the industry, her career spanning over three decades. She posed for every major fashion magazine and walked the catwalk for nearly every major designer, most notably Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein, Jean Paul Gautier, Versace, and Burberry. In 2012, she was inducted into the Scottish Fashion Awards Hall of Fame.
