Joey has known his bandmates, brothers Max and Cole Becker, since they were kids, but it wasn't until they watched the 2003 movie School of Rock together that they decided to form a band. "Joey and Max and I have known each other since Joey's fourth birthday," Cole explained to Entertainment Weekly in February 2016. "That's like 16 years! We started playing music when we were nine, because we saw School of Rock and were like, "Oh my god, these kids are so badass! They're playing music and they're only nine years old. There's no reason we can't do this."
