She's Known That She's a Girl Since Before She Could Verbalize It

In her 2016 memoir, Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender) Teen, Jazz explained that she's known she was "a girl trapped inside a boy's body" ever since she could form coherent thoughts, and she started to articulate that to her family as soon as she was able. "The more words I learned, the more I started to verbalize my feelings," she said. "Whenever my mom or dad would compliment me by saying something like 'Good boy,' I'd immediately correct them. 'No. Good girl.'"
