Matilda got into acting after director Matteo Rovere discovered her on the street and cast her in 2016's Italian Race. "It was real luck for me, because it was my very first experience with acting," Matilda said in a 2018 interview with Fade to Her. "I was into music, waiting to go to university . . . And after, my life was changed and I'm here having a leading role in a film. That's crazy! It was the best experience I've ever had in my life and it continues to bring me luck."
