Christian Bale's Daughter, Emmeline

Five years after tying the knot in Las Vegas in 2000, Christian and Blažić welcomed their first child, Emmeline, in 2005. According to People, the former model gave birth to their daughter at a hospital in Santa Monica, CA. The news came as a surprise to fans since the couple didn't announce they were expecting. Apparently, they wanted to keep their new family member a secret, but their baby's arrival reportedly made Christian "change his mind." In order to protect Emmeline's privacy, Christian and Blažić chose not to immediately share their daughter's name with the public.

Notably, just months after becoming a father, Christian made his debut as Batman/Bruce Wayne with the premiere of "Batman Begins" that June.

In a 2009 interview with Insider (via People), the actor said that his daughter, who was 4 at the time, would visit him on the set of "Terminator Salvation." Since she was so young when she was first exposed to the acting world, Christian tried explaining his job to Emmeline by comparing acting to playing dress-up. "She dresses up as Darth Vader, she dresses up as Yoda and I say, 'That's all I do. That's it. I do exactly the same that you do with your friends,'" he said.

In a July 2012 interview with The Mirror, Christian also said he would make time for Emmeline's favourite hobbies. "My daughter is crazy about art so we draw, paint and sculpt together," he said. "She's just nuts about it. And she has me dancing and singing to songs I never imagined I would be dancing and singing to. One of her favourites is LMFAO so I'm even doing that."

Emmeline has continued to be involved in her father's acting career. Christian told Screen Rant in a June 2022 interview that he and his family were big fans of Taika Waititi's films, including "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Jojo Rabbit," which is why he was interested in working with the director on "Thor: Love and Thunder." However, Christian initially thought he wouldn't be able to do the project due to "scheduling conflicts." But Bale said his family pushed him to do everything he could to make it happen. "They went, 'No, you make it work out. You're doing this, Dad,'" he said. "They gave me my marching orders, and I dutifully obeyed."
