Healy and FKA Twigs confirmed their relationship by going Instagram-official in February 2020 at the NME Awards. They were first linked the month before at RuPaul's DragCon UK event, according to E! News.
FKA Twigs – who was previously in a relationship with Robert Pattinson – and Healy, were said to go their separate ways in June 2022, after finding navigating their relationship in a post-pandemic world difficult.
Fans online believe that The 1975's 2022 track "I'm In Love With You", from the band's latest album "Being Funny in a Foreign Language", is based on their relationship. Healy sings: "You show me your (you show me your) Black girl thing (Black girl thing) / Pretending that I know what it is (I wasn't listening) / Apologise, and you meet my eyes / Yeah, it's simple and it goes like this".
