When it comes to rebooting horror franchise as beloved and well-trodden as Halloween [1], it's tough to make things feel fresh. After all, how many times have we seen Michael Myers mercilessly go after a babysitter? Fortunately in David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's excellent revival [2] of John Carpenter's classic 1978 horror flick [3], we get plenty of nods to the original [4], but also a batch of seriously cool female characters.
