The Bachelorette: Who Is Ben Smith?

From What We Can Gather, The Bachelorette's Ben Smith Loves Working Out, Hates Shirts

So far on this season of The Bachelorette, Ben Smith hasn't gotten a ton of screen time — but what do you expect when the first few episodes were solely the Clare Crawley and Dale Moss show? However, now that Tayshia Adams has assumed the role of Bachelorette, we feel confident that more of the guys will get their fair share of attention. One we're hoping to see more of is Ben. Not only is he easy on the eyes with his 12-pack abs and chiseled good looks, but so far he's come across as genuine, funny, and nice to the other guys. Ahead, get to know Ben a little bit better and see some of his most gorgeous Instagram photos. And trust us when we tell you there are plenty more photos where these came from!

Ben may live in SoCal now, but he's a Midwestern boy, according to his ABC bio. By the looks of this throwback photo, it seems like Ben hails from the great state of Indiana.

Ben has a heaping handful of pictures on his Instagram featuring so many dogs! You know what they say: dogs can sense good people. So if these puppers are loving on Ben, we're inclined to think he's a decent dude.

According to his ABC bio, Ben graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and The United States Army Ranger School. However, it was a massive back injury that kept him from returning to active duty.

One quick scroll through Ben's Instagram will tell you a couple things: he's incredibly fit, he loves to boast about being fit, and he seems to hate shirts. You know what? We're not mad about any of that. His ABC bio says he's a personal trainer, and clearly he wants to make sure all of Instagram knows it.

Host Chris Harrison said back before the season started that Ben is a talker. "Incredibly nice, big talker, and a long talker," he said. "When you get Ben going, it's hard to get him to stop."

As if being a personal trainer wasn't enough, Ben is an all-around healthy guy when it comes to nutrition too. At the gym he works at, he's also a nutrition coach and helps people understand "performance nutrition." With that being said, it looks like Ben doesn't want you to deprive yourself of good food if this "Carbs Don't Make You Fat" caption is anything to go by!
