The Storylines We're Paying Attention to in Series 22 of Made in Chelsea

Where there's money, there's drama, and we love to live vicariously through the elites of Suffolk on the long-running reality show Made in Chelsea. Since series 22 premiered in October, fans of the show have been keeping up with the nonstop drama, romances, and, of course, spicy love triangle of the main characters.

Though cast members have come and gone — yes, we're looking at you, Cheska — the remaining cast have enough going on to keep fans tuned in every Monday night at 9 p.m. on E4. Just in case you need a refresher on what's going on with the SW3 residents, here's a quick check-in on the main plotlines we're paying attention to this series.

Ollie and Gareth's Marriage and Surrogacy Journey

As fans may recall, Ollie and Gareth tied the knot back in November 2020 and are actively trying to add a baby to their family through surrogacy. Unfortunately, during the first episode, we learn through a tearful phone call that their first round of IVF didn't take and their surrogate did not get pregnant. Though all three parties are still confident and prepared to try again, Ollie seems to be taking the disappointment pretty hard. Their struggle may shine a light on their relationship's strength, along with the ups and downs of the surrogacy process for LGBTQ+ couples. We also see it as a source of inspiration for viewers going through their own hardships, especially in the early years of marriage.

The Love Triangle Between Miles, Ruby, and Reza

Listen, Ruby is going to live her best life, and the men around her are just along for the ride. As fans watched throughout the series, she and boyfriend Reza — who have been together for a tumultuous 10-year stretch — decided to call it quits, and it took no time for Miles to slide into her DMs and attempt to spark a love connection. Miles and Reza do exchange words early in the series (since they are technically friends!), so we can expect more of this in the coming episodes.

We also know that Miles and Ruby have been pretty hit or miss with their communication, but Miles may not be giving up quite yet, despite his friendship with Reza. Will Miles and Ruby hit it off? Will she and Reza work out their issues and pick up where they left off? Only time will tell.

We're Getting More of Paris

Since Paris first appeared on the show in series 20, fans are still getting to know the socialite and model, and this may be the series where that happens. So far, she's had the least dramatic plotline of the cast, but that can soon change as the girls are trying to get her into the dating scene — hence the blind date set up by Maeva and James. Though her first appearances on Made in Chelsea were just as one of Amelia's friends (to the detriment of Verity), we may be seeing more of Paris and getting a deeper sense of her posh personality.

Maeva and James's Relationship Hangs in the Balance

Are Maeva and James over for good? The series premiere opens with Maeva already deciding that she is not fully invested in her relationship with James anymore — however, her timing couldn't have been worse. She decides that she isn't going to attend a family function with him the night before they're supposed to leave and tells him while on a double date with the show's newest addition, Paris, and her blind date (a gorgeous model, naturally).

While Maeva feels she is being dismissed by James, he's trying to make it work. Despite his best efforts, Maeva puts their relationship on hold for an undetermined amount of time. We do see in released previews that James gets into his feelings about Maeva's dismissal of their relationship but is still willing to fight for it. Is this a setup for a rekindling, or are they just going to fizzle out altogether? So far, Maeva seems certain she's done (but we're not convinced).
