The "Love Island" villa might look luxurious on TV, but according to host Laura Whitmore, it's not all flowers and roses. If you imagine the Majorcan mansion to be filled with sweet diffusers and that unique holiday suntan-lotion smell, then you're in for a shock because Whitmore has revealed, "It stinks!"

Speaking on Alan Carr's "Life's a Beach" podcast, the 37-year-old explains that she didn't enter the villa for the last series due to COVID-19 restrictions and forgot about the stench. "It smells so bad. If you think about it, that amount of people — like about 40 or 50 Islanders go through it the whole summer — it starts off at about 10 or 12 or whatever, and then more keep going in," Whitmore says. "And they're like 18-year-olds. The carpet, the fake tan, the makeup, the BO. It stinks!"

The unpleasant smell doesn't stop there, either. She says the Islanders try to cover their unfortunate body odour with Lynx Africa — the deodorant spray often associated with teenage boys and cringeworthy Christmas presents from distant family members. Perhaps it might be a blessing in disguise that Liam Llewellyn and Afia Tonkmor have already left the "Love Island" villa.

Suddenly, the glistening pool, midday sunshine, and neon lights don't seem so appealing, do they?
