In 1980s Texas, Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey) learns that he has AIDS and is told he has just 30 days to live. Even so, he sets out to find alternative treatments and begins selling smuggled unapproved drugs with a fellow AIDS patient (Jared Leto) to others who are also running out of time.
