The show leans on some Biblical elements in the first episode. Not only does the number 828 continue to appear throughout the episode, but Michaela starts to wonder if the reason for the voices in her head is because she is a "called one." Perhaps the turbulence on the flight was actually worse than it appeared and the passengers were saved by angels to fulfil a greater calling on Earth.
