Based on a true story, this film follows an unlikely friendship between a world-class black pianist (played by Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali) and a Bronx-born bouncer (played by Academy Award nominee Viggo Mortensen) on a trip from Manhattan through the Deep South in the 1960s. Using the "Green Book" — which serves as a guide to the establishments that were safe at the time for African-Americans — tough guy Tony Lip escorts Dr. Don Shirley throughout the course of his concert tour, and we can tell from the trailer that this story is told with a perfect balance of humour and heart.
