Dawson was already a well-known actress when she took on the role of Mimi in the film adaptation of Rent (for which she won the Satellite Award for best supporting actress), and she hasn't slowed down since. She's starred in Clerks II, A Guide to Recognising Your Saints, Seven Pounds, Top Five, and Unforgettable. She's also voiced a few comic book characters, including Diana Prince / Wonder Woman in the DC Animated Movie Universe and Barbara Gordon / Batgirl in The Lego Batman Movie. Most recently, she's portrayed Claire Temple in five of the Marvel/Netflix series.
