"Badlands" by Bruce Springsteen

"If you're not indoctrinated fully into the casual cult of Bruce Springsteen, this is a great place to start ('Glory Days' is for rookies). The Boss writes great lyrics overall, but the ones in 'Badlands' are the purest representation of what he sings about. Sure, the deck is stacked against you. Sure, it's hard out there. But we're not going to stop striving toward a better tomorrow. This song also features a deadly sax solo, a searing guitar riff, and the fist-pumping lyrics, 'For the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside / That it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive.' If that doesn't get you motivated, I don't know what will."
