Thompson has pretty much alternated between sci-fi and historical dramas since her time on Veronica Mars, with credits ranging from Selma to Westworld. Of course, these days she's best known as Marvel superheroine Valkyrie, making her debut in Thor: Ragnarok and continuing on into the main Avengers narrative.
