In this musical, Garland plays young Esther Smith, who dreams of attending the revered World's Fair in St. Louis with her crush John Truett (Tom Drake). In addition to a delightful performance, Garland — who was 22-years-old at the time — crooned the popular melodies "The Trolley Song" and "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas."
