The tables turn for Brian in the sequel, as he's now the one running from the law after letting Dom get away. In exchange for his freedom, Brian offers to take down Miami drug lord Carter Verone (Cole Hauser) and ends up falling in love with Carter's wife, Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes).
