Thomas is reprising his role as Lizzie's little brother Matt, who has (presumably) outgrown his days as an annoying prankster. In his immediate post-Lizzie McGuire days, he had roles on other Disney shows such as Cory in the House. As an adult, he's focussed on mostly guest roles on TV shows. His most recent project was the comedy Baja.
