So the way the Virgin River book series works is that each book really brings in a new story with new characters. The first season of the show actually pulled from the first two books of the series. Because Netflix's show is clearly focusing on the core characters we've already met, we expect the second season to stick with them and expand on those stories. However, for longevity sake, we think we might get some of the new characters from the book series. What's On Netflix says there will be a handful of new cast members joining this season, so we'll have to wait to see what their stories hold.
