Orson Welles in Real Life (1915-1985)

Orson Welles famously panicked Americans with his dramatic rendition of H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds on the radio, making people believe that there really was a Martian invasion. A prolific filmmaker, he not only co-wrote and directed Citizen Kane, but also starred in it as well. A few of his other classic works include The Stranger (1946) and Touch of Evil (1958).
