In episode two, a friend of the Pink Palace crew named Gregory (played by David Carlyle) calls Jill to ask for help as he's beginning to feel ill. Gregory initially tells Jill that he has tuberculosis, before explaining that the doctors think it's something far worse. Jill agrees to help him with running errands whilst he's infectious and keeps it a secret from the rest of their friend group.
One day, Jill visits Gregory as usual but ends up faced with his disapproving family instead. Disturbed by the lack of information they were given, his family decide to take Gregory back home, before he's even given a chance to say goodbye to his friends. Struggling to recover from AIDS, he passes away at home in Glasgow.
