The "disastrous date setup" trope is the basis of so many love stories, both on the page and on the screen, and Sajni Patel's The Trouble with Hating You is a fantastic entry in the genre. Liya, an independent-minded engineer, is furious when she finds out that her family's dinner party is an excuse to try to set her up with Jay, the man they want her to marry. When Jay shows up at her office, she finds out they're stuck with each other: he's the lawyer hired to turn her company around. Liya and Jay have to learn to open up and overcome their pasts (and presents) on their way to real love.
