Promising Young Woman is a film that's been talked about for weeks, and finally, it's available to watch in the UK. Officially an Oscar-winning film after last night's ceremony, it took home an award for best original screenplay, after being nominated for best picture, best director, best actress, and best achievement in film editing. The epic revenge thriller features an all-star cast led by Carey Mulligan and includes Nashville's Connie Britton, Glow star Alison Brie, The OC's Adam Brody, and New Girl's Max Greenfield, to name a few. Initially set for release back in 2020, the film's air date was delayed until this year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, but it's now available to stream online.

Written and directed by Emerald Fennell — who, as it turns out, filmed the movie in 23 days whilst seven months pregnant — Promising Young Woman is a poignant exploration of sexual consent and is a must watch for everyone, everywhere. If you're wondering where you've heard her name before, Fennell's also known for her Emmy-nominated writing work on Killing Eve and her onscreen role as Camilla in The Crown.
