Taylor Swift Debuts a New Song in the "Where the Crawdads Sing" Trailer

The new trailer for "Where the Crawdads Sing" [1] has arrived! Adapted from the 2018 novel of the same name, the upcoming thriller follows a young North Carolina woman named Kya (Daisy Edgar-Jones [2]), who's suspected of murdering a man she was once involved with. Midway through the haunting trailer, none other than Taylor Swift [3] is heard singing, "You didn't see me here / But they never did see me here / There are places I would never, never go / Things that only Carolina will ever know."

"Where The Crawdads Sing is a book I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago," she captioned her Instagram [4] post sharing the trailer for the film, which hits theatres in July. "As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side."

She continued, "I wrote the song 'Carolina' alone and asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it. I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerising story. You'll hear it fully soon, but for now check out the @crawdadsmovie trailer for a clip!"

"Where the Crawfords Sing" comes to us from Reese Witherspoon [5] and her production company, Hello Sunshine. Witherspoon's previous book-to-screen adaptations include "Big Little Lies," "Wild," and "Little Fires Everywhere." Check out the new trailer for "Where the Crawfords Sing" above!
