Kate Middleton Black Roland Mouret Dress November 2018

Kate Middleton Turned to 1 of Her Favourite Designers For a Very Important Occasion

The British royal family spent their weekend attending a number of remembrance events in London, on the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice. As well as laying wreaths at the Cenotaph and attending a special service at Westminster Abbey, the family also attended the Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. The event, which took place on Saturday night, included a televised service that included musical performances, and tributes to those who lost their lives in conflicts.

Kate Middleton was among the attendees of the festival, and for the occasion she chose a simple black dress by Roland Mouret, on which her poppy brooch stood proud. The simple calf-length sheath featured an asymmetric neckline, and bracelet sleeves, and was finished with a simple pair of black pumps. Unlike her sister-in-law Meghan Markle, the duchess doesn't often wear black, but she has chosen the colour for remembrance services many times in the past, as a mark of respect for the fallen. Take a closer look ahead.
