1. Grace Kelly

Prince Rainier III of Monaco originally proposed to Grace Kelly with a Cartier eternity band of rubies and diamonds — until he saw other Hollywood leading ladies sporting flashier sparklers. The royal then presented his bride-to-be with a second Cartier style: a 10.5-carat emerald-cut diamond flanked by two baguettes.

2. Meghan Markle

In November 2017, Prince Harry proposed to Meghan Markle, presenting her with a ring many would consider priceless. Set on a yellow gold band, the centre stone of the ring is from Botswana and is surrounded by two diamonds from the late Princess Diana's personal jewellery collection.
