Since the start of the hit Netflix show, there were many memorable stories for the actress, including her very first fitting with the show's costume designer. "I remember that at my very first fitting for Kamala, Salvador was so wonderfully collaborative and open to my suggestions and ideas," Richa said.
"Initially, the idea was for Kamala to wear mostly American clothes, but I suggested that especially when she's at home, she could wear casual, flowy Indian pants or tops to incorporate her culture, which is also how I often dress at home for comfort. It truly feels like a blessing to be a part of a show with such a synergistic environment and where I have the opportunity to add value and authenticity to my character by infusing my real-life cultural background."
As for what has been her favourite outfit to wear on the show this season, the outfit may actually surprise you. "Definitely the cosplay outfit (custom made by Salvador) when Kamala, grudgingly, goes to a video-game convention with her nerdy, sexist lab mates! It's hilarious and painful at the same time to see her in that outfit, and we had so much fun putting that look together behind the scenes. I also loved the beautiful yellow tunic by Anita Dongre worn by Kamala when they went to spread Mohan's ashes at the end of season one."
