Jessie Diggins clinched the bronze medal for Team USA during the women's cross-country ski sprint (free) in Beijing on Feb. 8. Diggins came in behind Swedish skiers Jonna Sundling [2] (gold) and Maja Dahlqvist [3] (silver). In a dash to the finish, Diggins [4] sprinted past fellow US skier Rosie Brennan [5] to claim the bronze medal at 3:12:84 [6]. This win marked the first time a woman on Team USA has secured an individual cross-country skiing medal at the Olympics. The well-decorated skier has made ski history before. Back in 2018, she won gold in the women's cross-country team sprint [7] alongside Kikkan Randall [8] in Pyeongchang, another first for Team USA.
