Jessie Diggins Wins Bronze in Cross-Country Skiing, Making History For Team USA

Jessie Diggins clinched the bronze medal for Team USA during the women's cross-country ski sprint (free) in Beijing on Feb. 8. Diggins came in behind Swedish skiers Jonna Sundling (gold) and Maja Dahlqvist (silver). In a dash to the finish, Diggins sprinted past fellow US skier Rosie Brennan to claim the bronze medal at 3:12:84. This win marked the first time a woman on Team USA has secured an individual cross-country skiing medal at the Olympics. The well-decorated skier has made ski history before. Back in 2018, she won gold in the women's cross-country team sprint alongside Kikkan Randall in Pyeongchang, another first for Team USA.
