Let's be honest: running on a treadmill can feel very daunting, very quick. Thankfully, celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins [2] came up with the perfect combination of cardio and strength for this workout.
In her Instagram caption, Jenkins wrote, "one of the main reasons I consistently offer you different challenges & different methods of training is to help you stay MOTIVATED!" This workout will definitely motivate you, and leave you feeling strong and accomplished afterwards.
The workout:
- Start with three miles of a walk, jog, or hard run.
- During those three miles, complete five to 10 sprint intervals for 30 seconds each. Jenkins notes that the speed is up to you.
- After you've completed three miles on the treadmill, progress to the core workout.
Complete two to three sets of the following core exercises:
- Ab box with a kick through: 10 to 20 reps
- Ab tucks [4]: 10 to 20 reps
- Plank with alternating heel taps: 20 reps
- Toe touches [5]: 10 to 15 reps
