Meal Prep Is Your Friend

"People are pressed for time, and they want to eat out all the time, but you can really save a lot of money by buying fresh and preparing your own food ahead of time," says Alexon. In your 30s, there's a good chance you're juggling several things at once, whether it's work, family, kid schedules, freelance work, or some other combination. Setting aside some time on the weekend to get the basics prepped for the week — even if it's as simple as chopping veggies and cooking some meat for the first half of the week — not only saves time but saves your diet as well. When you've got healthy options easily available, you're less likely to reach for prepackaged or takeout foods high in fat and salt that sound good but lead to weight retention and bloating.
