I Finally Got My Hands on Trader Joe's Vegan Ranch Dip, and This is How It Tastes

When I found out that Trader Joe's had a new Vegan Ranch Dip, to put it in CrossFit terms, I raced there AQAP (as quick as possible)! I panicked slightly as I scanned the shelves and only saw vegan queso, vegan chocolate hummus, and my personal fave, vegan kale and cashew pesto — but no ranch! An employee saw the sadness on my face, and then showed me that it's with the dressings by the veggies. Glowing with excitement, I grabbed a tub, a bag of baby carrots, and couldn't wait to get home to have them marry in my mouth! Here's how the Trader Joe's Vegan Ranch Dip tastes, plus find out if it's actually good for you.

Trader Joe's Vegan Ranch Dip Ingredients

While taste is of utmost importance, you don't want to be slathering your veggies in something that's not healthy. When I checked out the list of ingredients, I was pleased. It's made with a base of coconut cream, rapeseed oil, water, red wine vinegar, parsley, garlic, sea salt, shallots, chives, black pepper, dill, and aside form the xanthan gum, it's all the healthy ingredients I'd use if I made my own homemade vegan ranch.

How Does Trader Joe's Vegan Ranch Dip Taste?

OK, now for the important question — is it good? At first dip, it was very coconutty. But after a few bites with a carrot, garlic and dill are the flavours that really came through. It was slightly tangy and very fresh — better than bottled vegan ranch dressings I've tried. I polished off a handful of carrots and one quarter of the dip and thought, ooh, I better measure out the dip next time (as I dipped another carrot in). Even my dairy-eating, ranch-loving husband was a fan.

Vegan Ranch Ideas

I'll definitely buy this again! It's great to set on the counter with veggies while cooking dinner, or as an appetizer for get-togethers. You can also thin it out with a little water and use it as as salad dressing or drizzled over homemade pizza or roasted potatoes. Smear some on a sandwich, burger, or slices of bread with fresh cucumbers. If you're a true ranch lover and not eating dairy, I'm sure you'll love this dip and will find a million other ways to enjoy it.
