14 of the Best Fall Foods From Trader Joe's That You Have to Try

16/09/2019 - 10:40 PM

Just like the leaves outside [1], the aisles of Trader Joe's [2] turn beautiful shades of orange and red every Fall as all things pumpkin [3], sweet potato, and squash take over. We love how so many TJ's staples get the Fall flavour treatment, including pastries, pasta, salsa, and more, but there are also new items that pop up every year that we're thankful for, too. TJ crew members told us you can expect to see new items stocked every day until Thanksgiving (including the new Cinnamon Bun Spread [4]), so be on the lookout. For now, here are some of our favourite Fall staples that we've already eyed (and tried) at our local store.

Pumpkin Danish Kringle ($8)

This ring-shaped pastry contains hundreds of flaky, buttery layers and tastes of pumpkin, caramel, and spices. Tear off a piece for breakfast or dessert.

Assorted Pumpkins ($1-$6)

Though we're not exactly sure if the flesh of the TJ's assorted pumpkin collection, from mini gourds to gnotty varietals, is edible, we do know they provide a festive centrepiece for your table. We recommend carving the Orange Pumpkins ($3) and roasting the seeds [6].

Almond Meal Muffins ($5)

Reach for these new muffins for a wholesome Fall breakfast that sneaks in loads of good stuff. Courgette, carrots, walnuts, oats, and chia seeds are just a few of the healthy ingredients on the list, but did we mention they're sweetened with maple and agave? Yum!

Pumpkin Spice Coffee ($5)

Keurig people, listen up. TJ's has released its single-cup coffee pods. The medium roast coffee is naturally spiced with a handful of warming baking spices that will liven up your cup.

Organic Cold Pressed Fuji Apple Spiced Cider ($3)

Sipping on this clove-and-cinnamon-spiced drink is practically synonymous with the leaves turning. Spike it with a splash of bourbon if you know what's good.

Greek Nonfat Yoghurt Pumpkin ($1)

Dice up an apple and toss it in with some granola and you have yourself a cosy breakfast on the fly.

Pumpkin Rolls With Pumpkin Icing ($4)

Because nothing at TJ's is artificial, rest assured these pop-and-bake cinnamon rolls taste authentic as can be.

Pepita Salsa ($3)

Shelled pumpkin seeds (pepitas) offer a contrasting crunch to this zingy salsa. Serve it alongside queso and guacamole, and scoop it onto chips for Autumnal snacking satisfaction.

Honey Roasted Pumpkin Ravioli ($4)

Coat these ravioli in Alfredo sauce, marinara, or simply some of TJ's Cultured Butter ($3) [7] with some sliced sage.

Pumpkin Butternut Squash Bisque ($4)

Lunch just got a lot easier with these microwaveable bowls of soup. Submerge some of those Fig & Olive Crisps ($4) in the warmed bisque for a completely comforting meal.

Sweet Potato Gnocchi ($3)

Butter and sage coat every inch of these chewy, sweet gnocchi. Pan-sear it solo or pair it with a baby kale salad and some roasted chicken.

Butternut Squash Ravioli ($3)

Sweet butternut squash fills these pasta pillows. Drizzle with olive oil and Parmesan for a comforting and quick Fall dinner.

Henry Hotspur’s Hard Pressed For Rosé Cider ($7)

A Fall party really hasn't started until you've cracked one of these floral-y beverages open, which are flavoured (and coloured) with rose and hibiscus petals.

Maple Leaf Cookies ($4)

These crunchy sandwich cookies are filled with cream cheese frosting for a delightfully tangy contrast. Dunk 'em in milk, coffee, or chai for the ultimate pleasure.
