"Natural waxes, on the other hand, produce about a tenth of the soot produced by a paraffin candle and do not contain any toxic chemicals. They are also biodegradable and free from pesticides, herbicides, and any genetically modified material," explained Claire Barnes, general manager of Australian fragrance house ECOYA [5].

"Soy wax candles burn 30 percent cooler than paraffin counterparts, offering a burn time up to a third longer," Barnes highlighted, meaning they often represent better value for money, too.
