Jennifer Garner Got Rejected While Handing Out Free Baby Food Samples, and Womp

Recently, Jennifer Garner, the 46-year-old actress and star of Peppermint, branched out into another business venture by creating her own organic baby food company, Once Upon a Farm. She recently handed out free samples of her cold-pressed, non-GMO baby food pouches at a Kroger grocery store in Cincinnati, OH, and some of the reactions were straight up hilarious.

In a now-expired Instagram story, Jennifer asked a man if he'd be interested in trying a sample, to which he replied, "I'm sorry. I'm really busy." Ouch. But obviously, the mom of three handled the rejection with grace by replying, "I understand. No problem."

Fortunately, Jennifer eventually got a few shoppers to give her new food a whirl, and judging by their reactions, it might actually taste pretty dang good.

So how exactly did Once Upon a Farm come to be? Jennifer co-founded the company in 2015 because she struggled with making her kids' lunches like the rest of the world. "As a mom with three kids, I have three lunch boxes to pack each day and understand the problems that must be solved with serving fresh food to young children," she told Living Maxwell magazine in a 2017 interview. "My mother made every single meal for me, and I have always been a big believer in staying connected to the earth, which grows our food."

And it's clear that Once Upon a Farm prides itself on quality. Every ingredient that goes into each pouch is certified USDA Organic and sustainably grown.

Another plus for moms and dads: there are options for older kids, too. Little ones start on baby food — broken into age-based stages 1, 2, and 3 — before graduating to the toddler-aged options that are packed with "protein and fibre to keep them filled and fuelled for every adventure." There are also four smoothie options designed for kids that have no added sugar and are dairy-free.

There's even an applesauce line meant for all ages. And if you have kids who are down to try pretty much anything, consider going to the variety pack route to keep their snack time interesting.

For kids with allergies, however, parents should be aware that some of the products contain tree nuts, such as coconut and almonds. However, according to Instagram, Once Upon a Farm is reformulating some of their products over the next few months to make options nut-free.

Another pro tip: unlike many pouches, these should be refrigerated, and they are consumable for up to four hours after being taken out of the fridge. Otherwise, put them in a cooler with an ice pack to ensure they stay cool.

Unlike that one busy gentlement, we certainly wouldn't pass up the chance to get a free sample from Jennifer Garner during our grocery run! Once Upon a Farm products are available (sans Jennifer Garner) at Target, Whole Foods, Kroger, Fairway, Walmart, and Amazon. You can also order online or sign up for a subscription service that delivers the food right to your door.
