Gru and the Minions Teamed Up to Film a Lighthearted PSA For Kids About Staying Home

The World Health Organisation, United Nations Foundation, and production company Illumination have teamed up to release a very cute and lighthearted PSA starring everyone's favourite friendly villain, Gru from Despicable Me. Gru was social distancing way before the rest of us — or at least before he became a doting dad — so he has a few tips for your kids about staying safe, as well as ideas for activities to keep your family busy [1] and to stay in touch with loved ones.

He ends the adorable PSA, which features clips from the Despicable Me and Minions movies, with an on-brand directive: "Now this does not come naturally to me, but try to be kind to each other. This is a tough time for everyone. . . Stay home, stay healthy, and remember, we're all in this together — but totally separate! You know what I mean."

The Minions were slated to star in their second feature film, Minions: The Rise of Gru [3] this year, but the movie release was pushed back to July 2, 2021 due to the pandemic. Check out which kids' movies are still coming out in 2020 [4], and if you can't wait, stream these family movies on Hulu [5] now!
