Sean Astin, who stole everyone's hearts as Bob Newby in the second season of Stranger Things in 2018, is taking on a similar, yet completely different role as Ed Thompson. Sean told POPSUGAR of his role: "My character, Ed, is fashioned after the best of the sitcom dads. He's fun, open, and caring of everyone around him. I love that when the show takes a turn for the darker and more dramatic, Ed is upbeat and positive."
