School's out for the summer and some fun in the sun is starting to sound pretty good right now. One of our favourite spots for R&R is the Bahamas. No matter which island you visit, you'll find white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and plenty of family-friendly resorts.

You'll also find stringent COVID-19 protocols thanks to the Bahamas island-wide guidelines for testing, cleanliness, and overall safety. When you are ready to visit, you'll need to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa and show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test. Requirements during your visit and to return to the U.S. may vary based on your vaccination status, and the guidelines are constantly being updated so be sure to check with your resort for the latest travel updates.

The Ocean Club

The Ocean Club is an upscale Four Seasons Resort on Paradise Island where families can swim together on the beach or in the lagoon-style family pool. When you're ready to visit the spa or adults-only pool, you can drop your kids off at the onsite kids' club where they can read, play video games, and do arts-and-crafts (they may never want to leave).


COVID-19 Protocols: Testing can be scheduled through the hotel and administered in the comfort of your private villa. Temperature checks and screening questions may be required upon arrival, and face coverings are required in public spaces for guests ages 10 and up.

Sandyport Beach Resort

With colourful decor, ocean-view rooms, complimentary snorkel gear, and beachfront hammocks, Sandyport Beach Resort is truly a tropical oasis. Kids can splash and slide in the children's pool and babysitting services are available if you want to indulge in a poolside massage or romantic (i.e. quiet) dinner.


COVID-19 Protocols: Mobile check-in is available to minimize contact. Masks are required when social distancing can't be maintained, and they are encouraged in all indoor and public areas.

Hideaways at Palm Bay

There are a variety of studios, cottages, and residential-style villas at Hideaways Palm Bay to accommodate families of all sizes. With its beachfront bars and restaurants, kayaks, paddle boats, and swimming pool, you probably won't be spending much time in your room, though. Hotel staff can also help you book fishing excursions, scuba diving, and boat rentals.


COVID-19 Protocols: COVID testing is not required for vaccinated guests, but testing is required for unvaccinated visitors. A complimentary shuttle bus offers transportation to nearby testing clinics.
