The Best New Beauty Products Launching in the UK in July 2019

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

In recent years, the beauty industry has grown exponentially, with new launches, lines, and collaborations coming at us in rapid succession. Every casual scroll through your Instagram feed presents you with new beauty products being revealed (especially if you follow someone with the last name of Kardashian or Jenner), and let's not even get started with Facebook ads. So how do you keep track of all of the beauty newness going on? And more specifically, how do you know which items you can buy here in the UK (without paying exorbitant shipping fees, that is)? Well, that's where we come in.

We combed though the shelves of Space NK, Superdrug, Boots, and beyond to find the best new beauty launches of the month, rounding them up in one place to make it easy for you. Maybe you're in the market for something specific — like a new curl cream or the perfect daily moisturiser for the Summer — or maybe you just want to peruse the new innovations in skin care and makeup. Either way, here's an easy way to determine what's worth the splurge this month. Spoiler alert: when it comes to beauty products launching in July, Giorgio Armani Beauty's new travel-friendly lip-and-cheek crayons and Amika's new collection just for curls are definitely worth reading up on, but make sure to check out all the latest and greatest ahead.

Tata Harper Hyaluronic Gel Moisturizer

With temperatures reaching into the 40s, Tata Harper's new Tata Harper Hyaluronic Gel Moisturizer (£101) couldn't have come at a better time. Made specifically with oily and combination skin textures in mind, the all-natural hydrating gel contains the gold standard of moisturising ingredients (hyaluronic acid can hold 1000 times its weight in water), but is supremely lightweight in texture — meaning it keeps your skin soft and supple without feeling like its suffocating your skin.

Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation

This month, we are gifted with what is probably the most anticipated makeup launch of not just the month, but of the entire year: makeup legend Pat McGrath's first foundation. Available in 26 shades, the Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation (£52), is one of three complexion products McGrath launched as part of her Sublime Perfection Foundation System. There's also a primer and six shades of loose powder (as well as two brushes), which when combined together, replicate the exact layering method McGrath has used backstage and on photoshoots for throughout her career. "We didn't want to just launch a one foundation formula because we wanted to show exactly how we do skin backstage [at fashion shows], and we don't do it with just one bottle of foundation," she says of the set. "We wanted to show how we make it last longer, how we set it, how we layer it for different effects — the set is basically exposing the chemistry of our artistry."

Codex Beauty The Bia Collection Skin Superfood

The founder of Codex Beauty, Barbara Paldus, is looking to shake up the beauty industry with her new multibrand beauty company that launches in the US and the UK this month. Before Codex, Paldus — who has a PhD in electrical engineering — was the CEO of a bio-processing company called Finesse Solutions and developed Picarro Inc., a provider of solutions to measure greenhouse gas concentrations. She wanted to create clean and sustainable beauty products, bringing together her experience in bio-science and regulating carbon emissions with her experience as a mother of a child who had extremely allergic and reactive skin.

To do that, she acquired a small, family-run beauty company from Ireland called Bia, which is the first brand to launch under the Codex Beauty umbrella. All five products in the range are made from bio-actives extracted from native Irish plants and are free of chemical preservatives (in fact, the brand was able to create a proprietary preservative complex that's completely natural and patent pending). Not only that, but all of the packaging material is made from green polyethylene (Paldus's goal is to have a zero carbon footprint and zero contribution of plastic into the ocean).

So what should you check out? We recommend the Codex Beauty The Bia Collection Skin Superfood (£40), a soothing and hydrating cream that can treat dry, flaky, and irritated skin anywhere on the body.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Insta Smooth Primer

Right out of the tube, the Elemis Pro-Collagen Insta Smooth Primer (£58) looks like any old primer. But once it's on your skin, it's anything but. The skin-care/makeup hybrid smooths over skin like a lightweight lotion, and once it dries down, it feels like nothing on your skin (versus the silicone-y primers of your that would make your face feel weird and tacky). Layered under your favourite foundation and you'll notice your pores are completely hidden and fine lines a lot less prominent. The brand also promises that thanks to ingredients like algae, glycerin, and plant extracts will help make your skin look better after continued wear.

Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Complexion Powder

Available in 25 shades, Too Faced's new Born This Way Multi-Use Complexion Powder (£28) is one of those compacts that you can throw in your bag to use all day, every day this Summer. Applied with the flocked side of the enclosed sponge or a powder foundation and it gives you natural, light-to-medium coverage. Use a powder brush and it works like a setting powder, keeping liquid or cream foundation locked in place and your T-zone from shining like a disco ball. Or, use the non-flocked side of the sponge for quick touch-ups throughout the day.

GHD Glide

It's baaaaack. The GHD Glide launched in the UK (and only in the UK) back in February and it sold out in just two weeks. To add insult to injury, the electric blow-dry brush was so popular that the brand was unable to restock — until now. Starting from July 8th, you can pre-order the GHD Glide (£139) on ghdhair.com, and after August 6th, the hot tool will be available in salons and department stores for a limited time. How good is the straightening brush you might ask? It cut the time it takes one of our wavy-haired editor's to style her hair in the morning by nearly half.

The no-lather wash is formulated for dry, coarse, curly, or seriously colour-treated hair, with ingredients like grape seed oil, sea buckthorn berry (the brand's signature ingredient), and oat peptides to gently cleanse without completely stripping delicate strands of moisture.

Tan-Luxe Super Glow Hyaluronic Self-Tan Serum

Tan-Luxe continually finds ways to innovate the fake tan industry — they've launched a number of "firsts" including the first clear fake tan formula, the first fake-tan drops, and the first fake-tan remover. This month, they dropped the first hyaluronic acid serum that's also spiked with DHA — the Tan-Luxe Super Glow Serum (£35) — giving you a moisturising skin-care product and gradual self-tan formula in one (a quick reminder that hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that's found naturally in the skin and helps bind water to collagen, trapping moisture in the skin).

Bulgari Rose Goldea Blossom Delight Eau de Parfum

Bulgari reimagines the classic rose perfume for Summer with their Bulgari Rose Goldea Blossom Delight Eau de Parfum (£71). The name of the scent hints at the juice inside, which smells bright and sparkly and, of course, like fresh rosebuds. Green papaya and jasmine in the top notes add a sweetness to the scent, while ambergris and white musk at the bottom bring depth to the delicate floral notes at the heart.

Packed with vegan, plant-derived silk extract, the IGK Antisocial Overnight Bond-Building Dry Hair Mask (£30) is an overnight hair treatment that promises to repair dry, damaged strands from the inside out. Coat your hair in the dry oil before you go to bed (no need to rinse it out), and you'll wake up with hair that feels soft, silky, and free of frizz. Bioderma Photoderm Max Sun Mist SPF50+

From the brand that put micellar water on the map is a new range of sun creams including this handy Bioderma Photoderm Max Sun Mist SPF50 (£17). Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, and paraben-free, the spray-on formula is transparent, water resistant, and protects against both UVA and UVB rays (a hard must). The mist makes it easy to apply on the go, although, to ensure you're totally covered, we recommend applying it inside or in a covered area to avoid the wind from blowing it away as you spray.

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Glow Juice Antioxidant Face Serum

The latest addition to Fresh's Vitamin Nectar line is the Vitamin Nectar Glow Juice Antioxidant Face Serum (£26), which you can think of like a cold-pressed juice for your skin. No, really, that's exactly what cofounder Lev Glazman had in mind. "I'm a big believer of cold-pressed juices for the energy and antioxidant benefits I get from the vitamins in the fruits and vegetables," Glazman said in a press release for the product. "So that's how I envisioned this serum, like a nutritious shot for your face."

The key ingredients include coconut oil, jicama root juice, chicory root juice, and ginger water, which as a beverage sounds pretty gross. But mixed together — along with beta-carotene and a proprietary vitamin fruit complex of C, E, and B5 — this serum promises to work your dull, dry-looking complexion into skin that's delectably glowy and hydrated.

Sport Fx Game Changing Waterproof Mascara & Miracle Remover

We've seen dual-ended mascaras before, but never anything like the Sport Fx Game Changing Mascara (£10). Typically, dual-ended mascaras mean one of two things: either lash primer on one end, mascara on the other, or a teeny tiny mascara wand on one side, a larger, fluffier brush on the other. This one, however, features a waterproof mascara and mascara remover. Apply the mascara and when you're ready to take it off, just take out the remover wand, comb it through your lashes, wait 20 seconds, and wipe it away to reveal clean, soft lashes minus lots of scrubbing.
