What was once meant for toddlers has now become a hair accessory trend your Instagram feed is likely all too familiar with. This popular '80s hair trend is back, and it seems we're not the only ones happy about it. The hashtag #scrunchiesareback has garnered nearly 75,000 posts, and for good reason. Scrunchies are more of a fashion statement today than they were when they first made their debut (when people simply used them to get their hair out of their face at home), but this nostalgic style has proven to be both fresh and functional. Wrap one over a messy topknotmessy topknot or stack a few on the wrist for a cool-girl, cool-boy vibe.

When pearl accessories (among other shiny hair ornaments) had a moment at New York Fashion Week, we knew we were on to something. By nature pearls add a sense of refined chicness to any look. Beyond the runway, we've also seen celebrities putting their own spin on this classic trend, from Cardi B.'s pearled updo at the Grammys to Leticia Wright's constellation of pearls on her pixie cut at the Oscars. And while these looks may appear too intricate and challenging to achieve on your own, rest assure you won't need your own stylist— a simple pearl-encrusted barrette, headband, or hair clip will have you feeling like the next trendsetter.

We're going to put it out there that 2020 is the year of statement clips. Think jumbo, strategically placed clips from metallic to bejeweled to ones that (literally) make a statement with words. Stack them by the pair or have fun mismatching— there's truly no rule with this one.

You'll get all the bride vibes with this hair accessory trend. While floral accessories may not be the most cutting-edge trend out there, it's perfect for the natural springtime lover and is a delicate way to add some liveliness to your look. It's as simple as picking up a flower and putting it in your hair for an organic touch, or, you can make like the models and pick up a floral headband or bobby pin.

Probably the simplest of the hair accessory trends to incorporate into your routine? Bows. Whether you go big or go dainty, use them as a hair-tie for a bubble braid or rock a half-up half-down style, bows look good on virtually anyone. And because they come in a wide variety of sizes, there are endless possibilities to create a polished, classic look.
