If I don't want to wash my hair but my roots are starting to look a little greasy, I jump into my nightly dry shampoo routine. First, I section my hair, leaving the bottom layer out and putting the rest up in a soft scrunchie. I spray at the roots of my hair, making sure to not hold the spray bottle too close to my head.
