Yara Shahidi's Jazz Age Glam

For her look, Shahidi wanted to pay tribute to Josephine Baker, the American-born French dancer and singer popular in the 1920s and 30s. She did that with a custom-made beaded gown and headdress from Christian Dior.

Makeup artist Emily Cheng also turned to Dior for Shahidi's beauty look, explaining via press release that she wanted to do a "modern take on the 1920s, keeping shapes more subtle so it doesn't look costume-like". This involved keeping Shahidi's brows on the thinner side and applying shadow and blush in round shapes on the eyes and cheeks.
