Who Are Prince George and Princess Charlotte's Godparents?

Meet All 12 of Prince George and Princess Charlotte's Godparents

Prince George was christened at the Chapel Royal in St. James's Palace back in October 2013, and two years later, Princess Charlotte was baptized at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene on Queen Elizabeth II's Sandringham Estate. While Kensington Palace has released several photos from both events, not much is known about the royal children's godparents. For starters, George has seven godparents, among them Emilia Jardine-Paterson, one of the people in Kate Middleton's top-secret squad, while Charlotte only has five. Still, there is much more to know about the people Prince William and Kate have entrusted with their children.

1. Sophie Carter — Princess Charlotte's Godmother

Sophie is one of Kate's closest friends, and previously dated William's best friend, Thomas van Straubenzee, who is also godfather to Princess Charlotte. Her brother Robert is married to one of Kate's childhood friends, Hannah Gillingham, and earlier this year, she accompanied Will and Kate on their family ski trip.

3. Laura Fellowes — Princess Charlotte's Godmother

She is the daughter of Princess Diana's sister, Cynthia Jane Fellowes, making her William's cousin. It's been reported that she and William are "close," and choosing her to be Charlotte's godmother was another way to honour Princess Diana.

Her husband, David, also attended Eton College with Prince William.
