Margaret, who was 29 at the time, famously rode from Clarence House to the Abbey with her brother-in-law, Prince Philip. The Duke of Edinburgh walked Margaret down the aisle and gave her away at the altar. She wore a silk organza dress by Norman Hartnell, who also designed the Queen's gown 13 years earlier.
