2009: Noel Clarke

Noel beat Michael Cera, Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Hall, and Toby Kebbell to be named Rising Star in 2009. Before his win, the British actor was on stage and in TV shows Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and Doctor Who. In 2005, he began his writing career with the film Kidulthood. He also directed and starred in the 2008 sequel Adulthood.

Since his 2009 Rising Star win, he continued his film career in big movies like Star Trek Into Darkness. He's also continued to write movies like 4.3.2.1. and TV episodes for Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood and BBC Three's West 10 LDN. In 2016 he wrote and starred in the third installment of his 'hood films, Brotherhood.
