At first glance, it certainly seems like a mismatched friendship: an artist and a princess, born in two different generations. As it turns out, though, the princess has been a longtime fan of Emin's, and the pair became friends back in the early 2010s.
Eugenie actually interviewed her friend and mentor for Harper's Bazaar back in 2013, where the pair revealed more about their friendship. The duo met around 2011 or so, when both were living in New York and crossing paths in the city's thriving art scene. They got along "like a house on fire," as the princess joked, and Eugenie calls her artist friend "a guardian angel."
