"Titanic"

We're kicking off the 25 sexiest movie scenes of all time with an absolute classic: "Titanic". You know exactly which scene we're talking about, but if you need a reminder, here are three words: "To the stars". The fumbling around in the back of an old car, the passionate kissing, the hand that slams against the window — we're trembling just thinking about it. This one is a little more suggestive, and a little less explicit, as far as sex scenes on the big screen go, but it's still guaranteed to get you going.

“Ghost”

It doesn't matter whether or not you've seen "Ghost", the pottery scene transcends time – and for good reason. Okay, so it's not a straight-up sex scene, but it is just as good as one. The way Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) wraps his arms lovingly around Molly Jensen's (Demi Moore) body is ingrained in our hearts forever. Who would have thought that hands intertwining in clay could be so erotic? Sometimes, it's all about the teasing, and this scene proves that foreplay is just as important as the act itself.

"Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counsellor"

Whilst this is one of the movies that features Kim Kardashian (and not in the starring, sexy role, if you catch our drift), it does feature some pretty steamy movie sex scenes between Judice (Candice Coke) and a wealthy entrepreneur (Robbie Jones) who helps her to discover a new side of herself. Whilst on paper, the film appears to romanticise cheating, it quickly takes a turn towards a dramatic ending.

“Don’t Worry Darling”

Two words: Harry Styles. He is reason enough to put this scene on our sexy movie scenes list, but if you needed another, it's him going down on Alice, played by Florence Pugh. Of course, the award-nominated thriller shouldn't be reduced down to its sex appeal alone, but for the purposes of this list, it sure can. Who wouldn't be a big fan of the world's biggest singer prioritising women's pleasure? We certainly are.

"Endless Love"

It might not be the original movie adaptation of the Scott Spencer novel, but the 2014 version of "Endless Love" is a must if you're hoping for some solo action. The scene where Jade Butterfield (Gabriella Wilde) and David Alexrod (Alex Pettyfer) strip off in front of a cosy fire before touching every inch of each other's bodies is enough to warm up the most cold-blooded people.

"Malcom & Marie”

Zendaya is our absolute babe, so when she was cast in a sexy black-and-white feature-length film, we were all over it. And while "Malcom & Marie" isn't exactly the depiction of a good marriage (it's quite the opposite, actually), the electric chemistry between Malcolm (John David Washington) and Marie (Zendaya) is, nonetheless, undeniable. There are many glimpses into the pair's sex life, including a healthy amount of both giving and receiving oral sex, and we're all for equality on that front.

“Blue Valentine”

The depiction of oral sex on a woman on the big screen is somewhat a rarity, so we're all for shouting about a good old fashioned cunnilingus scene. Add Ryan Gosling into the mix, and we're golden. The actor actually admitted that he got into "trouble" over shooting the scene alongside Michelle Williams. In an interview with The Guardian, Gosling said: "The sex felt real – it wasn't sexy or 'a sex scene', and that's why we got into trouble." Whilst we don't condone crossing boundaries at work, we do love the real, raw depiction of oral sex in this film, and we're pretty sure you will, too.

“The Longest Ride”

Based on Nicholas Sparks's novel of the same name, "The Longest Ride" is already solidified in rom-com perfection. The moment that Luke Collins (Scott Eastwood, the son of movie mogul Clint Eastwood), shows Sophia Danko (Britt Robertson) his cosy studio apartment, we just know what's about to go down. After Sophia heads into the shower to get cleaned up after a particularly country-fied date with the champion bull-rider, she leads him in and the pair engage in passionate, steamy (literally!) sex. Water might be running down their faces, but in true Sparks fashion (see "The Notebook"), it only makes for an even sexier movie scene.

"Really Love"

This stunning drama tells the story of the rise of a painter, Isaiah Maxwell (Kofi Siriboe), who is working on breaking into the competitive art industry. Along the way, he meets Stevie Richmond (Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing), an ambitious law student. The pair become star-crossed lovers, of sorts, with Siriboe's character being encouraged to focus on his art, while Wong-Loi-Sing's character is being pulled in a different direction. But in between the drama, the couple foster a beautiful relationship — and lucky for us, that means passionate sex. One of the movie's sexiest scenes in question sees Stevie peeling off her bright green lace lingerie set, before doing doing the deed with Isaiah.

“Dirty Dancing”

The whole film is essentially a glimpse into Frances 'Baby' Houseman's (Jennifer Grey) coming of age transition from girl to woman through dance — but between learning her foxtrot from her mambo, she develops a blossoming romance with Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze). After an intense argument, Baby finally hits Johnny with the heart-breaking words: "Most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling, the rest of my whole life, the way I feel when I'm with you." After making up in the best way that they know how, through a spot of dirty dancing of course, the pair end up making passionate love in Johnny's cabin. We're still swooning all these years later.

“Brokeback Mountain”

Jake Gyllenhaal is making his second appearance on our sexy movie scenes list, and he's extremely deserving of it. Appearing as shepherd Jack Twist alongside Heath Ledger's Ennis Del Mar, the pair develop a complicated relationship during the 1960s — when being a part of the LGBTQ+ community was still tragically frowned upon. Whilst the story has an incredibly sad ending, it has some of the most raw, passionate, and chemistry-filled sexy movie scenes that the silver screen has ever seen.

“The Boy Next Door”

As we said before, we love an oral movie sex scene as much as the next person. And lucky for us, this Jennifer-Lopez-fronted film is full of them. This erotic thriller sees main character Claire Peterson (Lopez) having an affair with 19-year-old Noah Sandborn (Ryan Guzman), her neighbour's orphaned nephew. One thing leads to another, and the pair end up tangled in the sheets together. Unlucky for Claire, Noah becomes obsessed with her and the idea of getting pleasure from her pleasure, which means a lot of going down on her. Our favourite sex scene in the movie is the one where he kisses every inch of her body whilst she's pinned up against the doorway — it's equal parts steamy and scary all at once.

“Friends with Benefits”

On the lighter side of movie sex scenes sits Mila Kunis as Jamie and Justin Timberlake as Dylan in the 2011 rom-com which is, surprisingly, about their strictly "just sex" relationship. Of course, the pair realise that by hooking up regularly, they've actually fostered a romantic relationship. It's not rocket science, but there are some pretty great sex scenes, including the scene that sees Jamie telling Dylan to "relax, you're not digging a hole to China" when he tries to go down on her the first time around (we've all been there). The scene ends with a pretty explosive (if not hilarious) screaming orgasm, and we could all do with a bit of that.

“Love & Other Drugs”

Anne Hathaway's Maggie Murdock reads Jake Gyllenhaal's character Jamie Randall's mind when they're on a date in a restaurant, explaining how she's "supposed to act like I don't know if it's right" whilst actually suggesting that she wants to have sex with him. But instead, the pair go against all of society's expectations of how a date should go, and burst into their apartment practically tearing each other's clothes off. The raw passion between the characters is tangible in the movie. Well worth a watch.

“Dear John”

If you haven't guessed by now, we pretty much love steamy rain scenes and Channing Tatum in equal measure. So, put the two together, and it's a match made in sex scene heaven. As John Tyree (Tatum) and Savannah Lynn Curtis (Amanda Seyfried) talk about their past, Savannah tells John: "You don't scare me, John," to which he replies: "No? Well, you scare me." Boom, they kiss. And as the rain continues to pour, they kiss some more, until they're making out on the sopping wet floor of a construction site. It might not be the most practical place to have sex, but we'll go with it, anyway.

"Lady Chatterley's Lover"

This period drama is so steamy that the book it was based on was actually banned in 1929 in the US for being so risqué. There are probably upwards of 12 sex scenes in the movie, so let's not beat around the bush (literally). There are full-frontal nude scenes (both men and women), frolicking in fields, and sex on the floor of the game-keeper's house, which gives rustic workshop vibes, and wouldn't make for very comfortable love-making. Nonetheless, we can't deny that the first time that Connie (Emma Corrin) and Oliver (Jack O'Connell) go at it is pure magic. The scene flits between Connie scooping up one of his pheasant chicks to the tension building so much that they end up on top of each other in missionary on the floor.

"Basic Instinct”

Dubbed the "f*ck of the century" by Michael Douglas's character Detective Nick Curran, this classic erotic thriller isn't playing around when it comes to sexy movie scenes. "Basic Instinct" tells the story of crime novelist Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone), who finds herself being the suspect in the murder of a rock performer. After being caught between a rock and a hard place after falling for Curran, their chemistry builds until it reaches an undeniably sexy (and thrilling) peak. It's one for the movie sex scene hall of fame, for sure.

"After We Collided"

With its roots based in a Harry Styles fan-fiction, the After series lends itself to being a natural libido-booster. The second movie in the franchise is pretty refreshing, with main character Tessa (Josephine Langford) actually growing up and looking older between the first and second movie. One thing that firmly stays the same, however, is her chemistry with bad boy Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), which leads the pair into one extremely steamy sex scene – and it doesn't involve P-in-V whatsoever. After the ex-couple pretend to still be in a relationship for the sake of Hardin's mum, the pair attempt to platonically share a bed, but inevitably can't keep their hands off each other. They both mutually reach second base at the same time in an undeniably sexy release.

"Fifty Shades of Grey"

Now, we couldn't write a list of sexy movie scenes and not include the Fifty Shades trilogy, could we? Our favourite scene is the one where they first hook up in Christian Grey's infamous red room in the first film. Whilst it may not be the first time that Anastasia (Dakota Johnson) and Christian (Jamie Dornan) get it on, this is the first time that our protagonist realises what exactly she's in for (bondage, whips, and sex toys, oh my!). And all that sexy goodness is paired with a saucy rendition of Beyoncé's "Crazy In Love". Honestly, we can't get enough of this scene.

“Love”

Despite Gaspar Noé's "most personal" work with "Love" not landing among the majority critics or audiences, there are some undeniably passionate sex scenes in the movie. Be warned though, straight away you'll be bombarded with a graphically long masturbation scene — though it's the later, crazy realistic sex scenes between Karl Glusman's Murphy and Aomi Muyock's Electra, of which there are many, which have a hold over our heart (and nether regions). The best scene, in our eyes, is the movie sex scene which sees Murphy and Electra going at it lazy Sunday style whilst spooning (or forking!). Our advice? Block out two hours in your diary, and enjoy the excess of sex scenes that "Love" provides.

“365 Days”

Now, if you're looking for gravity-defying acting skills or an awe-inspiring plot, look away now. Netflix's 2020 film "365 Days" was hardly the recipient of Oscar-award-winning filmography, but it did serve some pretty sexy movie scenes. While you won't need to look too far for a raunchy scene (the movie is full of them!), the best has to be the five-minute-long boat scene which is so graphic, viewers literally couldn't tell whether it was real or not. Being the first time the character's actually have sex, it's a pretty magic moment.

"About Last Night"

We all love a man with a sense of humour, and Kevin Hart certainly tops the list on that front. The other list he's featuring on is this one for his movie sex scene in the 2014 rom-com "About Last Night". In true Hart style, the scene is equal parts hilarious and sexy all at once. The scene begins with his character, Bernie, and Joan (Regina Hall) arguing about whether or not they need to use a condom (news flash: protection is non-negotiable), before bickering over who's going on top in an all-too-real way. Eventually, the pair settle on going at it from the side. It's not all bad, though, they manage to find just the right angle before both yelling "That's it" as they climax.

“Magic Mike’s Last Dance”

When you think of Magic Mike, there's a pretty good chance that you think of the infamous "Pony" scene. The one which is ingrained in everyone's minds and left pretty much everybody wanting to be the very workbench that Channing Tatum gyrated on. But in the latest movie, "Magic Mike's Last Dance", it was his final dance with ballet dancer Kylie Shea which got pulses racing with its rain-drenched lusty moves. Okay, so it's not explicitly a sex scene, but there's enough clothes being stripped off, legs spreading, and grinding to poke a stick at.

“The Notebook”

This is the second time that our fail-safe favourite actor Ryan Gosling is making an appearance on our list, and for good reason. After being caught in torrential rain on their paddle boat, Allie (played by Rachel McAdams) asks her former flame Noah (Gosling) why he didn't write to her when they broke up, telling him: "It wasn't over for me. I waited for you for seven years." He responds with the line every woman wants to hear: "It wasn't over. It still isn't over," before planting her the kiss to end all kisses in the pouring rain. Of course, the scene ends with a passionate - if not slightly damp - sex scene, and it's easily one of the highlights of the Nicholas Sparks classic.
