It's no secret Netflix has gone all the way in on the true-crime trend; with big shows on its roster like the gripping Making a Murderer, the unsettling mystery of The Keepers, and even the brand-new docuseries The Innocent Man, the streaming platform is practically running the gamut on our culture's strange, murderous obsession. And there's no signs of slowing down; this week, details emerged surrounding its latest impending release, a docuseries about the crimes and trial of Ted Bundy. If you're finding that you're morbidly curious about the project, we've assembled the key details for you. From the sound of it, this one's going to be pretty dark.

1. The Title

The new series will be called Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes. The title is actually inspired by a book on the same subject, called Conversations With a Killer, compiled by journalists Stephen G. Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth.

2. The Contents

The four-part miniseries will feature previously unreleased interviews that Bundy gave while he was on death row in Florida. It will also rehash the horrifying specifics of Bundy's crimes — he's been linked to the murders of more than 30 women in the 1970s. The episodes will also focus on the complete media frenzy that accompanied his time on trial; he was the object of affection for quite a few women, including Carole Ann Boone, who testified on his behalf.

In the unheard interviews, which consist of more than 100 hours of recordings from aforementioned journalists Michaud and Aynesworth, Bundy analyses his own life and motives, giving an appropriately chilling insight into the mind of a serial killer.

3. The Documentarian

The project will be directed and executive produced by Joe Berlinger, who's earned multiple Emmys and an Oscar nomination. Berlinger is actually a pretty prime choice for the task; he also directed Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which stars Zac Efron and will premiere at Sundance in 2019.

4. The Release Date

This one's coming very soon! The series will drop on Jan. 24, which happens to be 30 years to the day since Bundy was executed in 1978, for the murder of Kimberly Leach. That's a little on the nose, Netflix.
