All American Season 3 Theories

Football, Babies, and Sobriety Issues: My All American Season 3 Predictions

Touchdown! The CW's All American has officially been renewed for a third season, and I honestly can't wait to see more muscly scrimmage games, family feuds, football games under the Friday night lights, and love triangles. Typically the show airs in early October, but with the state of the television and film industry due to the pandemic, new episodes have been pushed to midseason, aka early 2021. So, what exactly is going to happen in season three? Here are my five predictions. (And if you just can't wait until the crew returns, here are some shows like All American to watch in the off-season.)

1. Olivia Baker Will Deal with Sobriety Issues

During the season two finale, we see Olivia Baker (Samantha Logan) reach into her jewellery drawer and pull out a tiny white pill. She then hesitates, calls her sponsor, and says desperately through the phone "I'm kind of spinning and everyone's gone and I just . . . I feel like everything's falling apart." Olivia then reaches for some vodka, saying to herself, "It's not a pill," and proceeds to take two sips from the bottle.

Just last season, Olivia deals with temptation, but ultimately ended up celebrating her one year sobriety anniversary. With her dad no longer around the house as much, her mother busy with work, and her brother's new relationship, we might see their favourite podcaster struggle this upcoming season.

2. Spencer James’s Shoulder Probably Has Residual Nerve Damage

Within minutes of seeing Olivia struggle with her sobriety, we're left with another big question: is Spencer's (Daniel Ezra) shoulder still hurt? Throughout the season, we see Spencer working towards healing his injury. Unfortunately, he often pushes himself too hard, against the warnings from his doctor. However, his doctor told him that his shoulder was completely healed and we believed it — until he dropped the glass pitcher during the season finale. Once the glass hits the ground, he clutches his arm, and a blurb of his doctor explaining possible side effects goes through his head.

3. Coach Baker Will Coach at South Crenshaw (With or Without Spencer)

At the end of the season, Billy Baker (Taye Diggs) finally stands up to the boosters, and resigns as head coach of the Beverly Eagles. Fast forward to the end of the episode with Billy Baker and Spencer James standing on the field at South Crenshaw High. Spencer just announced he would be returning to South Crenshaw in order to prevent the school from becoming a magnet school. Billy asks him what his plan is and Spencer replies, "Win the state championship next year." Billy, not knowing what Spencer is about to propose says, "That's a lot of weight on your shoulders, son." Spencer replies, "Yeah, I can handle it, with the right coach. Maybe one who never got to win state when he was a student here, with his best friend (referring to Billy and his late father, Corey James). The two converse a little more and Billy agrees.

4. Simone Will Have Her Baby While Her and Jordan Are Together

In the last episode, we finally see Jordan Baker (Michael Evans Behling) pull his "Hail Mary" and confess his love to Simone (Geffri Maya), who is pregnant. Instead of saying anything back, Simone just kisses him. Therefore, I think it's safe to say we can expect to see Simone's pregnancy and birth play out with Jordan in the picture. After all, she did tell him he was the father in the first place. And who knows, maybe they'll even name the baby Mary. If you know, you know.

5. Tyrone’s Sister Will Get Revenge

Last but certainly not least, during the last few minutes of the finale, Preach (Kareem J. Grimes) is greeted behind bars by an old friend he calls "Mo" (Erica Peeples). Fans learn that "Mo" is Tyrone's (Demetrius Shipp Jr.) older sister when she says, "Did you really think that I would let someone murder my baby brother and I wouldn't come back to town?" Although she doesn't explicitly say she wants revenge, she says, "Ruth Scott may have pulled the trigger, but she didn't take him down alone." Previously, we saw Coop (Bre-Z) try to take down Tyrone time and time again. Not to mention, at the very end of the episode, as Coop is heading off for tour, fans see Mo sitting in a car with her sights dead set on Coop, as she says goodbye to the James family.
